Here is is the Flanaess & Hepmonaland Geopackage. It is all the GIS data in one file that you can use in most GIS programs like qgis.org

To be able to use the Geopackage you need at least basic familiarity with QGIS. It is open source software free to download and use, and manual, tutorials and training data are available at https://qgis.org/resources/hub/

There are lots of great tutorials on YouTube and the web. I will go over how to use this on my Twitch Live streams, and I will have video hangouts using Zoom to explain more on how to use this when you have had a chance to look at it.

The GeoPackage is 150MP in size and you can get it in zip format here: https://annabmeyer.com/Downloads/GIS/GEOPACK%20Flanaess%20-%20Hepmonaland%20241214.zip

The SVG symbols I'm using you can get them here (zip 3.7MB): https://annabmeyer.com/Downloads/GIS/Color%20SVG%20Symbols%202024.zip

Below is a simple overview:

Download and unzip the Geopackage and fire up QGIS. Make sure you have the QGIS Browser panel visible. In it you will find Geopackage. Right Click on it and Select <New Connection> and select the Geopackage file you unzipped.

Now you can load the whole QGIS Projector individual layers. Below is a screenshot of the layer structure:

The raster layers in the bottom ha their own order:

The important bit here is that the layer "Campaign Terrain low res Extended..." is at the bottom. Its purpose is to fill out areas of the ocean that doesn't have any land to save data.  The order of the other raster layers doesn't matter as long as they are above the low res and below everything else you want to have on top of it.

You will notice that the fancy SVG symbols are missing (and a question mark appears), this is due to them not being present in the right path. I'm not sure how to fix this so it works on other computers, so unfortunately you have to manually select the properties for each symbol layer and change every reference to the place you unzipped the svg symbols.

This needs to be done for every symbol type (and there are many) but you only need to do it once and save project file, and it should work from then on.

It took me a while to get into QGIS and how it works, so take it step by step. It is very powerful and useful tool that I'm learning to like more an more. This first geopackage is for those of you who want to start out making your own version of Greyhawk using my data as a staring point.

This first batch is my old terrain file, georeferenced and all the locations, borders and roads are placed and styled as of 598 CY. I'm working on more GIS data, like fully vectorized map of the whole Oerth with coastlines, ocean, simple elevation coloring, ocean depth and major lakes and rivers. A 576 CY version of this will come to as well as, a detailed class of GIS data starting with Shield Lands that will be in full 3D at "porta potty resolution".

As my top patreon supporters you will have first take on this and hopefully I can set up a QGIS server and provide this as a webmap for you to base your own maps on. Downloading and using the data locally is always a safe option.

Thank you so much for making it possible for me to put this together!
